In Greece
Hey everyone! First of all I have to say a million thanks to all those who sent their good wishes to us. We're here now and after a bit of a rough time getting to the hotel, due to crazy drivers and no street signs, we made it. With twelve hours to go we all are in a bit of a state of anticipation but also dread. The directions for the race route are vague at best so Carrie and Ian are going to have fun with that. Apparently it is well-marked so that should help. I am anticipating the run but also am worried about the distance. I've said it all before so I'll spare you that train of thought. What's going to happen will happen. The weather looks favourable for running and they're even expecting rain later in the day Saturday. Great being from B.C.! More updates hopefully will come your way, if not I won't be writing anything more until at least Saturday night (Greece time) or Sunday some time. Til then.

Darin! Sorry to not catch you before you left, but I wish you all success and hope overall that you enjoy the day(s) and the experience. You have had the courage to reach the start line, and that is an amazing feat in itself. Be one with the road, and embrace every step forward. I know you have the strength and will to do well, and I look forward to hearing about your achievement.

You are close my friend and about to succeed once again, tracking you back home here from Hall 10 last night and my house right now, it is Friday night, Sept 26 here, 5:00 and you are climbing the ladder, winning the battle, you will do it. Atta boy, I have been sharing your story with people at work and my daughter and son's school, people are in awe, as they should be. Have a smile when you done, rest your body and enjoy your holiday!! Oh yeah, stop being modest and be proud, what an accomplishment.

WOW ,,C.P. 52 and Position 11. I've been following Spartathlon all day long here back at home. Good going Darin. One can't,,, and won't even try to imagine your thoughts at this moment. Thanks Carrie and Ian too. Hard to find the right words ,,, except maybe to say ,,there's a feeling of "Silent Pride" amongst many family members here,, knowing you,, and your accomplishments. Best of everything on the remaining distance. P.S.--- If you see Aunt Cindy standing on the roadside ,, you ARE OFF course. She is 1000 mi. NW of you at this moment,, in France. (Just a little humour.) WOW AGAIN,,, just got an update,,CP60 and position 11. This IS GOOD,, I'm lost for words.... GO Darin. Looking forward to reading your next update.
